There are QFL mistakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And then there is Rishi forgetting to change one little setting<\/strong> and somehow turning a routine free-agent transaction into a multi-day constitutional crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The setting isn’t controlled by the commissioner. Each individual team has to set it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n And apparently, Rishi’s team didn’t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For every QFL owner, there’s a very simple little housekeeping task that needs to be done before submitting claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Go to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Team > Settings > General > Claims\/Drops<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Then select 1<\/strong> from the dropdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That’s it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once you make that change, the default for each claim group will be 1 instead of 99<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Simple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Apparently, not quite easy enough for Rishi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The problem was that Rishi created two claim groups in the Masters League and expected the picks to run conditionally. He thought his settings were configured the same way as his QFL Prime team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They weren’t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As Rishi himself admitted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n “I thought the settings were exactly the same as my prime settings. If they aren\u2019t, that\u2019s on me.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n And, to his credit, he followed that with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n “If this is not straightened out, give me the fines.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n That’s accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Unfortunately, it came after<\/strong> the nuclear explosion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Because the setting remained at 99 instead of 1<\/strong>, Rishi’s claims didn’t behave the way he expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The result?<\/p>\n\n\n\n He won Xavier Worthy and Kayshon Boutte<\/strong>, both for $2 and both intended as the No. 1 priority in their respective groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Then Fantrax apparently decided Rishi hadn’t suffered enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He also accidentally won Kevin Coleman and Aaron Rodgers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nobody else even wanted Coleman, and the other Rodgers bidder would have gotten his next choice anyway, so those pickups could be reversed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But the real fun was just beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rishi and Nik both bid $2 on Jordan Addison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nik had Addison as his No. 1 priority<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rishi had him as No. 2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Somehow, Rishi won.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And now one forgotten dropdown setting had created a cascading series of questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n If Nik gets Addison…<\/p>\n\n\n\n Who gets Wan’Dale Robinson?<\/p>\n\n\n\n If Wan’Dale moves…<\/p>\n\n\n\n Who gets Travis Kelce?<\/p>\n\n\n\n And if Kelce changes teams…<\/p>\n\n\n\n WHO GETS RASHEED SHAHEED?!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Since Rishi shouldn’t have won Shaheed either, suddenly multiple teams had legitimate $1 claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The commissioner was now discussing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n At one point, the email chain had effectively become:<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Do I get Kelce now?”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This was no longer fantasy football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This was a forensic accounting exercise.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The QFL wants to make sure this doesn’t happen again \u2014 preferably before someone accidentally acquires half the free-agent pool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So here’s the official PSA:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Team ? Settings ? General ? Claims\/Drops ? Select 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Once you select 1<\/strong>, the default for each new claim group will be 1 instead of 99<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Do this on your own team profile<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is not something the commissioner can simply change for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rishi’s defense is actually fairly reasonable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He said he had created the two groups expecting conditional picks and believed his Masters settings matched his Prime settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Unfortunately, the Fantrax computer does not recognize:<\/p>\n\n\n\n “I thought it was set correctly.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Fantrax recognizes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n “The dropdown says 99.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n And thus began the Great Rishi Waiver Wire Disaster of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The mistake:<\/strong> Forgot to change Claims\/Drops from 99 to 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The fix:<\/strong> Takes approximately 14 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The consequences:<\/strong> Worthy, Boutte, Coleman, Rodgers, Addison, Wan’Dale, Kelce and Shaheed somehow became part of the same administrative crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rishi’s excuse:<\/strong> “I thought the settings were exactly the same.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rishi’s final offer:<\/strong> “Give me the fines.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Commissioner’s workload:<\/strong> Catastrophic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Entertainment value:<\/strong> 10\/10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And remember, QFL owners:<\/p>\n\n\n\n You control your own Claims\/Drops setting.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Go to Team > Settings > General > Claims\/Drops > 1.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Do it now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Because if you don’t, you could become the next Rishi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And frankly, one Rishi is enough for the QFL.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" First of all, I did nothing wrong.
