QFL NORTH

TenQ
Auction Review: TenQ had little to do at the auction with its core studs already in place. They replaced Packers D with another name brand in Steelers D in its only major move. Lots of no name draft picks, but knowing TenQ’s draft history a few will surely work out. The QFL’s best team, and it’s not even close right now.
Strengths: Where to begin…a top 3 QB, two top 5 RBs, two top 3 WRs, two top 10 Defenses.
Weaknesses: The Madden Curse? Depth is thin by TenQ standards.

QJ
Auction Review: Forced into buying A Bradshaw for $14 after missing on other better RBs. D Martin will step in and start immediately. V Ballard could be a nice sleeper.
Strengths: TE depth is probably best in league and allows QJ to run its preferred wishbone. M Ryan looks like he could make the leap forward this year. D Martin will be a starter here for the long term.
Weaknesses: RBs not as strong or deep as years past for this team. Colston is very solid but the wishbone requires a true stud WR to contend for a title.

QBC
Auction Review: Keeping an overpriced G Jennings for $22 really limited QBC’s options in the auction. Getting Gore and Turner for $25 total is not bad, but these aging stars may be tough to depend on. Romo at $12 is fair value but with sheli and Luck in place that money would have been better spent filling out depth. Ended auction with just 16 players – typical for this team.
Strengths: Nice group of QBs here that will be allow them to play the matchups or make a trade. Luck will be a stud in short time.
Weaknesses: Starters at RB and WR all have injury or age issues and this team has zero depth.

#Quince
Auction Review: Spent big on WRs getting R White and D Jackson. If Desean repeats 2011 that will go down as a huge mistake and Roddy is getting old. T Richardson seems like obvious choice but already carrying big risk with knees and bad team.
Strengths: QB and WR depth, potential for nice future foundation in Cam/Trent
Weaknesses: RBs are thin and very boom or bust with Lynch and Richardson. Could lead to trouble.

QFL South

SoQ
Auction Review: Pulled off the biggest auction splash by paying $30 and two 1st rounder’s for A Foster. Now pairs him with Brady and Graham to form a solid foundation of studs. Time will tell if it was money well spent, but $30 could have purchased two 2nd tier RBs. Failed to land fantasy’s top RB handcuff B Tate to secure his significant investment – wonder if any regrets for buying a $3 Kicker?! Still clearly the top team in the South.
Strengths: Lots of RBs here with Graham and Brady to run a solid wishbone. Roster flexibility to go wishbone or a standard set.
Weaknesses: Tough to call Lloyd and Cruz weaknesses but may not be studly enough to run the wishbone with. Defenses leave a lot to be desired as well.

QU
Auction Review: Team is built around the Rice/Matthews foundation, but it’s not clear if the limited funds available were well spent in this auction. QU moved on from Rivers but an aging P Manning is a lateral move at best. $18 spent on M Austin and R Wayne is fair value, but these has-beens may be tough to depend on. S Holmes could be a nice bargain at $2.
Strengths: If Matthews comes back and lives up to his pre-season hype, QU will have a very solid 1-2 RB punch. Some nice upside RBs deeper on this roster as well.
Weaknesses: Back in 2009, these WRs would be awesome. If Peyton breaks down, QU is in deep trouble.

Qtang
Auction Review: It all starts with the $23 purchase of A Peterson – very risky, but could pay off later in the season. Other owners had his value in the $15-$17 range. D Wilson could be a very solid draft choice that could pay off sooner than later. Rivers at $14 is fair and QTang needed him.
Strengths: Julio is an emerging stud to pair with the always solid Bowe
Weaknesses: Thin at RB and QB. Not a lot of margin for error with this roster.

Fredneq
Auction Review: The Redskins love got a bit ridiculous and in the end 4 Skins RBs may turn out to equal zero. Got to like getting Flacco for $4 as he looks set to breakout (again). VJax at $9 is also a nice value but the same can’t be said for P Garcon $8. Bush could end up as a nice sleeper here.
Strengths: McFadden could be the top RB if he stays healthy. Set at QB for future with RG3.
Weaknesses: After McFadden there is a lack of top shelf studs in place. Will need sleepers to awaken in order to contend.

QFL North

FahQ
Auction Review: $36 for A Johnson and J Maclin was steep, especially the $18 on Maclin. That seemed like a desperate purchase after failing to get Roddy back. But you can’t argue with the top line talent this team has assembled. Defending Champs remain the QFL North favorite.
Strengths: Stafford together with four top 20 WRs will be tough to beat most weeks. Defenses should allow to play the matchups.
Weaknesses: Depth in general is paper thin and it’s hard to imagine FJax/Sproles rekindling the 2011 magic.

HepQ
Auction Review: The original WR collector has shifted focus to RBs in a roster overhaul. Need to question logic of keeping B Wells for $12 and buying S Greene for $13. Expecting a $15 Welker to continue the magic also questionable. If this team was attempting to transition to a wishbone team, a lot of work remains to contend again.
Strengths: So many RBs that a few have to hit.
Weaknesses: QB, WR and TEs are not strong enough to run a legit wishbone.

OQ
Auction Review: Clearly building for the future by letting Foster go and drafting 7 players. A ton of young talent here to go with Cutler/SJax/C Johnson that may prove to make OQ a sneaky contender this year if some of them hit early. Loved the outbidding of SOQ for B Tate after losing Foster to him. One injury away from making that transaction a great heist.
Strengths: Can win now and loaded for the future. Plenty of prospects for trades if season looking good.
Weaknesses: WR depth is pretty brutal for now unless young guys surprise and Wallace comes back strong.

PQB
Auction Review: The WTF auction – possibly the worst in QFL history, definitely the worst in recent memory. Spent only $89, but was getting outbid for $1 players he seemingly wanted, only to be left with the scraps at the end when he was the only team with money left. Can hang your hat on A Rogers, but Marshall and Forte won’t scare anyone when considering what else is on this roster. Seemed to handle his first QFL auction last year better than this debacle. Did provide great entertainment.
Strengths: Still has A Rodgers, arguably the top fantasy player
Weaknesses: The depth on this roster is laughable and starters are very weak after the top 3 mentioned above.
