The purpose of this post is to gather rule change ideas (for implementation in 2013) in the comments area.

One intriguing suggestion that has come up recently is the idea to auction all the restricted free agents first, then hold the rookie draft, then continue auctioning the unrestricted free agents.

This would help teams that need to know who their rookies will be before the auction while addressing the compensatory pick issue with restricted free agents.

Any others? Is Rishi’s steal a farm system player idea still alive?

  1. The auctioning of tagged players first also allows ease when using ESPN’s auction engine.

The Thrice can publish a white paper for future generations re: using ESPN for the auction.

  2. 1) Follow Fantrax IR rules and add 1 more spot to be QFL Europa eligible.
    2) Rename QFL Europa to Farm System.
    3) Rexamine how rookie contracts vest. Is there a way to make rookie contracts for QBs and WRs a four year contract that doesn’t start doubling until year three? So if #1 pick is $4 and used to double every year, or $4 R1, $8 R2, $16 R3, this rule change would be, $4 R1, $4 R2, $8 R3, $16 R4 for QBs, WRs and TEs only. It expressly would not apply to kickers and RBs.

  3. Could QFL IR gain a ‘nominate to return’ feature? One player per team, can only be used once, and must be designated through league commish.
