The road to SuperQuince glory goes thru Benny after he put up a QFL Nation best 112.27 points in week 1. Berlage took it home in QFL2 with 101.91 points and Golden Smoot (Richman) edged out QFL3’s very unlucky second highest scoring team by .89 points to snatch that league’s weekly prize with 85.87 points.

Week 1 Movers & Shakers for the original QFL after the jump.

Movers & Shakers

QFL – Week 1

#1 QTang (1-0)  – QTang may have easily won the week 1 skin, but his status as rookie drafting guru is now seriously being called into question. Benny went out of his way to start two TEs rather than Jahvid Best(16pts) this week after he almost didn’t draft him in the first place. He really wanted homer pick Dez Bryant at #2. But whatever he crushed it anyway.

#2 TenQ (1-0) – Winning in week 1 let alone against BQP is amazing. This was TenQ’s first known win against BQP since week 11 2005 (2007 records on this are missing!). And this was only TenQ’s third week 1 win since  2002. Widely mocked for leaving the auction with $13 in cap space left, Seth has since filled out the roster to a league high 32 players. Team has Max Hall for $2 when Derek Anderson is available. Only Rishi has anywhere close to as many players with 31. Speaking of Rishi…

#3 OrigQ (1-0) – Don’t let Foster’s monster 32.8 points distract you from how lucky Rishi got this week. Sims-Walker put up zero. Schaub and Calvin Johnson combined for 8! You can be certain Rishi spends his last $1 Wednesday night.

#4 SOQ (1-0) – Scott’s bench outscored his starters by 15 points (SOQ has only nine bench players so it’s comparable), if he can straighten that out, he has a chance to win, even without Grant, and even though Moreno’s job is now being threatened by Maroney.

#5 SwineQ (1-0) – Quite possibly the worst Commissioner in QFL history won by .39 points. No further comments necessary.

#6 QBC (1-0) – This win will get picked up in Ted’s lucky ratio rankings. 57.9 points will not win many games, but yet again QBC seems to pull this off every year.

#7 QU (0-1) – Hans’ vastly improved team was just unlucky, as the #3 scoring, to have played the #1 scoring team. Things will turn around if Hans can figure  out how to fit in Nicks and Jamaal Charles next week.

#8 FahQ (0-1) – FahQ fielded the most expensive week 1 starting lineup by far at $90. SOQ was next at $73. There is no depth. Literally. Brian Westbrook is on the roster just to add insult.

#9 FRNQ (0-1) – Have no sympathy for some one who starts Cotchery and loses by 1.67 points. Deserved.

#10 QUnet (0-1) – Tough loss by less than half a point for Barron but there was not much that could have been done. Only starting Hightower over Spiller would have helped…. Probably won’t get better against Benny next week either.

#11 BQP (0-1) – This is the more surprising of the sub 47 point scoring teams (other was Ted) with AP, MoJo, Ronnie Brown and Matt Ryan in the starting lineup. Turns out Shades is prepared to roll with Gaffney as his wishbone WR.  Team already has Sidney Rice placed on QFL-Europe.

#12 Quince (0-1) – The defending champion almost scored the fewest points in all of QFL Nation. Only Tarek’s 42.94 was worse. Ted was upbeat over bbm saying it was just a “tough week” and “doubt my stable of wrs will get shut out again tho”. Quince plays Tenacious Q next week.
