UPDATE 7/11: These rules got bogged down with in-fighting, influence peddling and last second changes. Plus Seth was impersonating a COMCOMM member when he cast his vote. Any changes that do get made will be at the eleventh hour. My bet is there will be no changes.

With the July 15 deadline to implement new rules for this season looming, the QFL Competition Committee hammered out a couple proposals last night that will go to a general vote today (hopefully).

From Shane (acting as Commissioner since Rishi is not).

1) Empty Backfield = Approved
(Shane, Ted, Seth, Scott, Benny voted Yes)

2) Expanding ComCom to include Colonies = Approved
(Shane, Scott, Seth voted Yes)

3) Reducing roster minimums to 1 for each position (except TE) = Approved
(Shane, Ted, Benny, Seth voted Yes)

If COMCOMM has its way;

1) there will be no requirement to start an RB with the “Empty Backfield” rule change, just 5 WRs and/or TEs.

2) COMCOMM will be expanded to include one seat (presumably the Commissioner) from each colony.

3) there will be no requirement to carry a backup QB or DEF (or RB if #1 passes general vote). Teams are freed up to use their cap space elsewhere. But beware if you are not able to field a valid starting lineup, you will be fined at least $20. So still not allowed to start bye week kicker or a QB that gets injured in practice Friday and is declared out. Thats the chance you take.
