At 8:47 AM on the league message board previous QFL2 commissioner Nick posted:
“it seems like the commish used his admin rights to waive breaston directly from his IR to save himself the transaction fee of first trading him to his active roster before waiving him. since the rest of the league does not have the ability to waive players directly from IR or PS squads, the commish shouldn’t abuse his powers to do so either. Commish, i recommend you fine yourself an appropriate amount (i.e. $2, 1 for the transaction fee and 1 for trying to get away with it…) so the qfl2 comcomm doesn’t have to start an independent investigation and review of the matter :)”

The board has since been lit up with league members weighing in.

Paul responded with:

“Hmmmmm……I’ll pay a fine if I did something wrong.
I looked through the constitution first and KNEW it was illegal to move a player to the active roster after he was moved to IR…..that’s in black and white.  I presumed, though I’ve never seen it come up, that because of the shortcomings of the software that drops from IR would HAVE to be communicated to the commish for legal handling. It would have cost me an extra dollar to do what I knew was illegal so that approach seemed very illogical.  If there is a precedent please remind me, but I’ll check with COMCOM for how it should be handled. “

Did the commish risk major scandal to avoid a $1 transaction fee or did he really feel that he would have to fine himself a greater sum if he traded an IR player back to his active roster?

Conspiracy theorists are having a blast while Berlage waits to find if the constitution is to be ignored when the software gets in the way.
