National Quince Day in Britain falls on Sunday, October 17th this year (week 6)! QSN has recognized Quince Day as an official holiday since first discovering it was a “day” a few years ago.

Norton Priory in Cheshire, England, which houses the national collection of quince trees, first alerted us to the fact there was a quince day with their National Quince Day annual event.

This year it appears as if Quince Day has been combined with Apple Day, to make “Quince & Apple Day” according to their website, which is total bullshit obviously and they’ve heard about it from me. They did at least hold an exclusive “Quince Walk” a few days ago.

I’ve seen several places around me in NYC selling quinces for as little as $3/lbs. Needless to say I’ve been a buyer. You gotta support your local quince grower(s).

If you’re looking to party this quince season, the Bramley & Gage Quince Liqueur is highly recommended. You can frequently get these guys to ship it to you across international borders. EOM
