Every year it seems as if QFL Nation has to re-learn all the rules. It’s like some kind of off-season amnesia sets in and even Commissioners and COMCOMM members are not immune.

Today in QFL Rules.

Q: Tony Romo was a franchised last year, but he is marked as an L1 on the site. What is the deal?

A: Romo was let go by the franchising team. In that scenario Romo comes with a new L1 contract to the new team. I have to admit I had interpreted this rule wrong for years myself. If you are successful bidding on a franchise player he becomes L1 so don’t worry if you already have a franchise player on ur roster.

Q: Can we even trade 2012 picks prior to the 2011 auction?

A: Yes. Draft picks in the next two College Drafts may be traded. I thought even this restriction had been removed, but my memory could be wrong since I cant find the amendment in the Constitution.

Q: What are the off-season roster compliance requirements?
A: You only have to adhere to the $100 salary cap. There are no position minimums or 16-18 man roster limitations in the off-season.
