Len Quincerelli started to look at QFL playoff scenarios this morning.

The outcomes for the QFL are a mess due to the North and the West divisions. If Seth loses base don tonights game, it could mean a ton of outcomes. The playoff byes are at stake if:
1. Seth loses this week, he opens the door for someone to take over the division, and the QFL south (Hans) to sneak in with a win next week.
2. If Shane loses next week, and Paul wins, there is a significant chance (I haven’t done the full calculations) that Paul wins the division. He is currently in 3rd place because of his division record.

I have analyzed my division and there are a few scenarios
1. Shane wins; Paul wins – Shane gets the bye, Paul gets in the playoffs, There will be a lot of work to do to determine if Nangia or Bing goes to the playoff (the other gets a loser’s bracket bye as the top seed)
2. Shane wins, Bing wins – Shane gets the bye, Bing gets in the 4th seed in the playoffs. Paul will go to the playoffs with a better divisional record. Nangia goes to the loser’s bracket
3. Nangia wins, Paul wins – this is a mess, as Paul, Shane and Nangia will have equivalent records. Yikes. I think Pauls wins the division – check my facts. Nangia and Shane go to the playoff and likely rematch
4. Nangia wins, Bing wins – another mess. Nangia, Shane, and Bing would have identical records, with division rankings deciding the winner.

We need Paul to settle this.

Updating from Len.

Hans clinched his division with his win in week 12. He needs to win again to try to get a bye
Hans has tiebreakers over Seth. He has not played Shane. He lost to Paul, Josh, and Rishi
The South team will feature 3 teams in the loser’s bracket

Seth will likely lose tonight, meaning he has a one game lead in his division.
If Seth loses in week 13, three teams will be 7-6 in the North Division. Either TenQ, BQP, and Quince or TenQ, BQP and QBC. The loser of QBC and Quince will automatically go to the loser’s braket as the 3rd seed)
With a win, Seth clinches his division.
He has lost to Hans, Josh, and Shane. He has beaten Paul. Did not play rishi.
Therefore, if hans and seth win next week, Hans will clinch a bye.

Shane has a one game lead in his division. If he wins, he clinches 1st place overall. If he loses, and Hans and Seth win, Shane has a victory over Seth (he didn’t play Hans).
If Hans, Seth, and Shane win, the order will likely be 1. Shane, 2. Hans, and 3. Seth (and Rishi will likely go to the loser’s bracket with a 7-6 record, losign the tiebreaker to loser of Paul/Josh in week 13)
If Shane loses, then the winner of the West will likely be
1.Paul if he wins (based on division record, 4-2 over Shane’s 3-3)
2.If Josh wins, then Paul will go to the loser’s bracket as the 1st or 2nd seed and there is a tiebreaker conundrum with Rishi, Josh, and Seth (these teams will have 3-3 division records with 1-1 records against one another) [what is the next tiebreaker?]

Paul, can you validate our division?
