QFL3 Gets Interesting

QFL3 is entering its all important fourth year in 2010. Year four is when the first and biggest wave of player contracts expire under QFL rules. In QFL3’s case there are 47 players becoming restricted free agents, including guys like: A.P, Jones-Drew, Fitz, Andre Johnson, Wayne, Aaron Rodgers, Brees and Brady. From this point forward expiring contracts tend to even out y.o.y. due to retirements/drops from this class, so this Auction is a bad team’s best shot at getting better fast. But, that’s not all that’s going on around the league… The third QFL is also discussing payout changes, increasing dues and replacing “Brian Bla” according to emails reviewed by QSN.

Payout Changes. At least one league member wants to payout the first and second place finishers more by stiffing the seventh place finisher.

Dues Increase. At least two vocal members want to double dues to $200.

Team Orphaned. “Bria Bla” sold Rishi’s house, then handed over the keys to his QFL3 team weeks later. Fortunately, within four hours of the announcement by the commissioner on Saturday, two interested parties had emerged. Once a competent owner is found expect him to be shopping one of the team’s three top 5 QBs, Rodgers, Brady and Romo.

Wave of L3s. The waive of expiring contracts is never more extreme than at the Fourth Annual Auction under QFL School rules.

Vote Quimby(6), ROTC(6), RonMex(5) and RUSH(5) hold a combined 22 players with expiring contracts. As all of QFL Nation should be aware, but sadly some are not, you can only keep 3 restricted free agent contracts on your roster at one time (1 franchise and 2 transition).
