There is still one week left in the QFL regular season, but the two playoff groups are already set.  Only the seeding within each bracket is yet to be determined.

MEN (Winner’s Bracket)

#1 STORMTROOPERS OF QUINCE (10-2, 828.38)

Analysis: Had his biggest game of the year when it didn’t really matter.  This week matters even less as SOQ has the head-to-head tiebreaker over TENQ.  SOQ’s amazing luck so far has enabled the team to overcome major injury issues to secure the #1 seed and a first round bye.  Will the luck continue into the playoffs after the bye?  Doubtful, but there is some hope after this week’s big game.

#2 TENACIOUS Q (9-3, 887.69)

Analysis: Two of TENQ’s three losses have come in the past two weeks.  Nonetheless, TENQ has managed to back into the #2 overall seed and a first round bye.  Overall an impressive showing in the tough QFL North that is sending all four teams to the winner’s bracket.

#3 FAHQ (7-5, 822.03)

Analysis: Back-to-back wins over the last two weeks has vaulted FAHQ from the #7 overall and out of the playoffs to the QFL West champion and the #3 overall in the winner’s bracket.  Nice work.

#4 QUINCE (7-5, 883.83)

#5 BERNARD Q. POLLARD (7-5, 812.84)

#6 QUINCING BY COMMITTEE (7-5, 811.21)

Analysis: TENQ is top dog in the QFL North, but all three of the other teams have already secured winner’s bracket spots with a 7-5 record.  The seeding of the #4, #5 and #6 seeds will be determined in the last regular season game.

QUINCE has defied the Quince of Darkness’ prediction to secure and a winner’s bracket seed and is currently the #4 seed thanks to a 3-2 division record.

BQP is currently the #5 seed with a 2-3 division record and head-to-head tiebreaker over QBC.

QBC is currently the #6 seed with a 2-3 division record.

A QUINCE win locks in the #4 seed and condemns QBC to the #6 seed with BQP at #5 (regardless of the outcome of that game).  A QUINCE loss to QBC and a BQP win will knock QUINCE down to the #6 seed.  A QUINCE loss to QBC and a BQP loss will result in the #5 seed with QBC in the #4 and BQP in the #6.

I think.

BOYS (Loser’s Bracket)

#7 QTANG CLAN (5-7, 900.77)

Analysis: The 2nd highest scoring team in the league has had an up and down season and is finishing strong by riding Dwayne Bowe.  It’s not enough to get into the winner’s bracket, but QTANG has a good shot at a loser’s bracket bye and 5 skins to console him.

#8 QUNET (5-7, 830.35)

Analysis: QUNET was never really in it this year due to a woeful start, but a relatively strong finish has them at the #8 spot because of a tiebreaker over OQ.  I’d say QUNET has a good shot at a loser’s bracket bye as well, but he faces a FAHQ team that has won three in a row while OQ faces a HEPQ team that has lost four in a row.

#9 ORIGINAL QUINCELAR (5-7, 962.05)

Analysis: The highest scoring team in the league, but choked when it mattered most.  Back-to-back losses over the last two weeks were killers.  OQ did win 5 skins though and has at least as good a shot as QUNET at a loser’s bracket bye.

#10 FREDNEQ (4-8, 808)

Analysis: An up and down season that has finished in a total collapse with a four game skid.

#11 SWINE Q (3-9, 758.19)

Analysis: Won the first two games and then just one since then.  All three wins could easily have been losses as the highest score of the three weeks was 61.03 points.  The only team with less than 800 points.  Could very well be winless. Not good.  Not good at all.  But still better than Hans because of a head-to-head tiebreaker.

#12 QUINCE UNITED (3-9, 846.03)

Analysis: QU started off terribly and never recovered.  Maybe he can turn it around in the loser’s bracket.

Skins:

1 112.27 QTang Won
2 105.71 QTang Won
3 120.41 Quince Won
4 101.82 OrigQ Loss
5 105.83 QU Loss
6 82.89 QBC Loss
7 82.22 TeNQ Loss
8 124.25 OrigQ Won (5)
9 93.11 Quince Loss
10 100.64 OQ Loss
11  118.68 QTang Won (3)
12  100.22 SOQ Loss
13  104 To Win
