Without Ted and McD mucking up the works COMCOMM was actually able to get some work done on Tuesday night’s conference call. McD bailed due to happy hour, Ted due to golf practice. Benny called in for 20 minutes. Otherwise, Scott, Shane, Rishi and Seth were able to deliver a number of proposals to the league after an hour and a half discussion.

Some might still complain that the scoring issue wasn’t adequately addressed because COMCOMM opted to take a slow approach to changing this area, but regardless the long awaited rule changes for 2010 will be finalized by a general vote today, if all goes to plan…

A couple of the proposals up for vote include:

  1. clarifying trade rules for players in Thursday games (not allowed)
  2. moving the free agency deadline to the start of week 16 games
  3. reducing defense points for yards allowed by 50%
  4. awarding points per reception and points per rush on a % basis rather than tiered

If the QFL does not pass rule changes by tonight at 11:59PM ET, they cannot go into effect this season. The exception being a unanimous vote, most likely held at the 12th Annual Auction on August 7. The only proposal that may receive unanymous support is the Thursday game trade rule.
